The builder got you further than a spec document ever did: real screens, real data, something you can put in front of people. Then one of three things happened. A user hit a bug you can't reproduce, the payment or email step turned out to be a placeholder, or you opened the code to change one thing and couldn't tell which file to touch.

Do I have to hand over my Lovable or Bolt account?
No. Connect the project to GitHub, add me to the repo and your deploy platform with the minimum access needed, and revoke both when the work's done. The code stays yours throughout, and so does the builder account.
